Call for Papers: Second edition of the Workshop Series on Migration, Globalization and the Knowledge Economy (May 16-17, 2019). This is part of our series of 4 workshop  launched in 2018 on the topic of migration and its relationship with knowledge creation, diffusion, entrepreneurship, international business, innovation, and more. The 4 workshops are commonly organized by CEPII, EPFL, PSE, Utrecht, ICRIOS-Bocconi, and GREThA-Université de Bordeaux.

The third edition of the Neuchâtel Graduate Conference will take place on 12 – 13 September at the University of Neuchâtel.

The MMC (Mixed Migration Centre) is re-advertising the position of Mixed Migration Centre Manager in North Africa. 

University of Neuchâtel 12 – 13 September 2019 

The third edition of the Neuchâtel Graduate Conference will take place on 12 – 13 September at the University of Neuchâtel. This year’s topic is Innovative Approaches to Migration and Mobility Studies. The conference provides a stimulating environment in which PhD and PostDoctoral fellows from different universities and research institutions can exchange ideas, establish networks, and initiate collaborative research. We welcome paper and panel submissions from a variety of different disciplinary perspectives, including anthropology, demography, economics, geography, law, political science, psychology, and sociology.

DEADLINE FOR PAPER PROPOSALS: 2^nd of May 2019 

Call for papers for issue briefs on methodological issues in migration studies, as part of the CrossMigration project. Authors are invited to contribute to the project by submitting short papers of approx. 2500 words in length (incl. references) that will be published online as contribution to the Migration Research Hub. This hub will be integrated into the IMISCOE webpresence soon.  The issue briefs may be based on published works and thus also provide the opportunity to disseminate contributions about methodological issues in migration research to a broader public. 
 

Article recently published in International Migration, by Heaven Crawley and Jessica Hagen‐Zanker, on migrant decision making of Syrians, Eritreans and Nigerians who crossed the Mediterranean in 2015.

As part of the annual Hanneke Steenbergen Scriptieprijs meeting (Dutch award for the best master thesis in migration law), which is this year at Maastricht University on 18 December 2018, the seminar Citizenship and Integration in the EU: Challenges ahead is organized by prof. Hildegard Schneider with: 

IOM GMDAC in Berlin is looking for a Data and Policy Analyst to support the programme “Safety, Support and Solutions in the Central Mediterranean Route.” The selected candidate will work on child migration and other topics on the Central Mediterranean Route, assisting with capacity building activities as well as research. This will involve regular travel to North and West Africa.
