The Utrecht Centre for Regulation and Enforcement in Europe (RENFORCE) in collaboration with the Dutch Association for Migration Research (DAMR) call for individual abstracts and panel proposals for the International Migration Conference 

Samuel Hall is seeking a junior Data Analyst with proven experience in data analysis and migration-related work to join its Migration and Displacement Pillar for a full-time position based in our Nairobi office. Under the supervision of the Pillar Lead, the Data Analyst will be recruited as a Research Assistant/Intern and will be responsible for the processes and outputs related to data collection, data analysis, data sharing and data cleaning. He/she will ensure that meaningful statistical analysis and techniques are used to infer results on the data collected with academic rigor and standards. He/she will ensure that the data cycle is documented all along the assessment process. There is a strong component for in-country and international travel to undertake fieldwork.

The efforts of the ITEM Expertise centre of Maastricht University have been recognised by the European Commission as a good practice.

A meeting of the Commission consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the State Migration Service and the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in order to prepare proposals for the determination of the quota of labour migration in our country.

This 5 day course (29 January – 2 February 2018) covers policy-makers and societal leaders evidence-based handles for improving their organizations’ refugee-related policies and projects.

In the upcoming seminar, Floris Peters (Maastricht University, FaSoS Political Science) will present “Naturalisation and homeownership: an analysis of the signaling effect of citizenship in the housing market”.  The seminar will be held from 12:00-13:00 in the UNU-MERIT building at Boschstraat 24 in room 0.16-0.17. A sandwich lunch will be provided.
