Migration Seminar: Immigration’s flipside: Engaging diaspora capital transfers

Diaspora engagement refers to the myriad of ways that seek to encourage migrants and their descendants to transfer various forms of capital between their countries of residence and origin. This migration seminar, led by global migration specialist, Loksan Harley, will discuss the different policy, programme and project approaches being undertaken around the world to encourage diaspora engagement.

About the speaker
Loksan Harley is an independent migration specialist and Executive Director of Homelands Advisory. Based in the UK, he has extensive experience supporting the United Nations, governments, and non-profits through migration-related research, project management, capacity-building and technical assistance across Europe, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. He holds a BA in economics from McGill University and an MSc in public policy and management from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, where he has also lectured on migration policy.
