MACIMIDE Annual Work Conference 2019

On September 20 the annual MACIMIDE conference took place at the Jan van Eyck Academie. It was an inspiring conference with several  interesting workshops and panels where MACIMIDE researchers as well as researchers from other universities presented their work on migration. The conference was kicked off by a workshop on intangible transfers followed by panels on return migration, education, labour markets, migrants and the receiving society as well as creative methods in migration research.

Researchers from all MACIMIDE faculties were presenting their work. The organizing committee itself included member of 4 faculties with Karlijn Haagsman and Swantje Falcke representing FASoS, Inge Hooijen and José Victor Cremonesi Giarola representing SBE, Julia Reinold representing UNU-Merit/MSGoG, and Zvezda Vankova representing the faculty of Law.

The Maastricht Centre for Citizenship, Migration and Development (MACIMIDE) is an expert centre on cross-border mobility, citizenship, transnationalism, migration and development which includes scholars from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Humanities and Sciences, the Faculty of Law, the School of Business and Economics and the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences.

This conference received funding from the various participating faculties, SWOL and the ERC project of Valentina Mazzucato.
