Workshop: Whispering in the Prince’s Ear? The role of JHA agencies in informing EU policy responses to the ‘migration crisis’

Bringing together scholars and practitioners, this workshop posits the question of knowledge production and dissemination as a source of political actorness in the European Union (EU) Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) domain. How does JHA agencies’ knowledge frame the ‘migration crisis’ and inform European policy responses?
The workshop includes two main events: a public roundtable on Making sense of a ‘migration crisis’? (in the University Library – Doelenzaal) and a seminar on European Security Knowledge Practices (in the Political Science Common Room).
Speakers include: Judith Sargentini MEP, Francesca Galli, Polly Pallister-Wilkins, Marieke de Goede, Jorrit Rijpma, Julien Jeandesboz, Maria Gabrielsen Jumbert, Sarah Léonard, Marcello Carammia (EASO), Sónia De Sousa Pereira (Europol).
