Comparative Migration Studies 10th Anniversary Issue

In this anniversary issue we reflect on the past of the journal Comparative Migration Studies in order to better understand the journal’s present and to shape the future of the journal.

The journal has clearly positioned itself in the heart of the field of migration studies, and has contributed to theoretical development and methodological innovation, in particular establishing the comparative method. The journal’s contribution has been particularly strong in using comparative research to move the field beyond methodological nationalism but also beyond an ‘ethnic lens.’ Furthermore, the journal has paved the path for Open Access publishing in the field, and has become a platform for interdisciplinary and international collaborations.
