The 2nd Annual Conference of the nccr – on the move offers a platform for discussing the contemporary “turbulence of migration and mobility” from different disciplinary, theoretical and methodological angles. In many ways, Switzerland offers a laboratory for understanding the changing regimes and realities of migration and mobility. 

In recent years, international migration has become a central element of the global policy agenda. The second WUN Migration Conference will contribute to this international discussion by taking a multidisciplinary approach.

As of the 2015/2016 Academic Year, University College Maastricht (UCM) is offering a new bachelor level course on migration led by UNU-MERIT and its School of Governance.

Maastricht Centre for Citizenship, Migration and Development (MACIMIDE) 

A picture is worth a thousand words. The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation’s (SDC) Global Programme Migration and Development (GPMD) is launching a global photo competition to highlight the positive aspects of migration and its potential for development. Photographs have the unique ability to evoke emotions and to tell a story from a new angle. 

IMISCOE has opened nominations for its 2017 Maria Ioannis Baganha Dissertation Award. The Network has awarded this prize annually since 2010 (overview of winners) to stimulate and recognise excellent PhD research in the field of migration, integration and social cohesion in Europe.
