The conference is the final results-sharing event of the project: Marie Skłodowska-Curie Mig. Pro. Migrants’ protests: how the borders of citizenship are conceived, mobilized and constructed by migrants’ farm workers protests. 

We invite abstracts for a workshop that seeks to explore the forefront of research on the nature of migration aspirations and related concepts. That is, how can we conceptualize and empirically examine people’s thoughts and feelings about potentially migrating?

European states fund Migration Information Campaigns (MICs) to curb irregular migration from West Africa. MICs mobilise emotions to influence decision-making and govern people’s mobility.

This paper explores the intersection of two themes in recent research on transnational youth mobility. 

Public perceptions of humanitarian migration are shaped by conflicting sentiments, balancing perceived threats against humanitarian responsibilities.

The proposed volume focuses on migrant farmworker resistances in the last five years of the polycrisis. It seeks contributions that examine the roots and forms, evolution and role, consequences and prospects of solidarities, alliance building, and resistances against the exploitation, control, and precarization of racialized migrant labour.
