Call for papers: Special Issue on Contested Categories: Rethinking Labels, Recognition, and Protection

We invite extended abstracts for a proposed special issue exploring how displacement-related labels are created, contested, and navigated. Contributions across disciplines and global contexts are welcome. 

Deadline for abstracts (max 400 words): 31 July 2025 

Notification of acceptance: 10 August 2025 

This special issue is contingent on acceptance by Journal of Refugee Studies or Refugee Survey Quarterly. Full papers will be invited only if the proposal is accepted.
