Third Sarah van Walsum Lecture: “Making Citizens, Remaking Citizenship: The Case of Refugee Sponsorship”.

On 29 August, Neimed (Centre of expertise on Demographic Changes, joint initiative of Zuyd University of Applied Sciences, and the Open University) organises a lecture about the extent to which refugees feel welcome in smaller cities like Kerkrade and social integration in Heerlen.

In 2023, the Linguistic Landscape Research Group of the School Languages and Translation Studies at the University of Turku will launch a new lecture series on multilingualism.

The lecture is titled Reconceptualizing ‘people on the move’ beyond ‘refugees’ and ‘migrants’ in collaboration with two speakers, Dr. Annick Pijnenburg and Dr. Marieke van Houte.
