Call for Papers

We are pleased to share our Call for Papers for a proposed special issue titled “Contested Categories: Rethinking Labels, Recognition, and Protection.

We are pleased to share the Call for Abstracts for the upcoming interdisciplinary workshop: “Local Jobs, Global Lives? High-skilled migrants navigating transnational mobility and local embeddedness”, taking place 11–12 December 2025 at Radboud University, Nijmegen. 

The proposed volume focuses on migrant farmworker resistances in the last five years of the polycrisis. It seeks contributions that examine the roots and forms, evolution and role, consequences and prospects of solidarities, alliance building, and resistances against the exploitation, control, and precarization of racialized migrant labour.

We are pleased to share the call for the Annual Dutch Association for Migration Research (DAMR) Pitch & Mix event with you, taking place on October 30 2025 from 13.00-17.00, at the Ministry of Asylum and Migration in the Hague.

The Dutch Association for Migration Research (DAMR) will hold its next next Annual Conference on November 27 at the University of Groningen.

Recent literature has provided evidence that six of nine planetary boundaries have been transgressed since 2015.

We invite abstracts for a workshop that seeks to explore the forefront of research on the nature of migration aspirations and related concepts. That is, how can we conceptualize and empirically examine people’s thoughts and feelings about potentially migrating?
