Prof. Valentina Mazzucato was interviewed for The Migration Podcast, an initiative of the IMISCOE network, about ways to explore migrants’ transnational connections.

This video builds on here earlier video on the Canadian Private sponsorship scheme. In this video Prof. Siegel looks at the schemes that have been implemented in the UK, Argentina, New Zealand, Spain and Ireland. 

The MACIMIDE Executive Board has requested that anyone who would be interested (or knows someone that is) in writing a blog post about their relation to the conflict in Ukraine would reach out to MACIMIDE at the email (macimide@maastrichtuniversity.nl). 

Echoing the sentiments of Maastricht University, the MACIMIDE Board is deeply concerned by the conflict in Ukraine and the resulting humanitarian crises. UM has created a webpage that includes information on the assistance available to staff and students, on the ways in which others can help and on information regarding the conflict. The help that can be given ranges from practical assistance to financial contributions among others. The website also highlights information on some up coming events. In this video Prof. Siegel looks at the Ukrainian Migration Information Hub, established by the Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration at UCL. The Centre has primarily focused on the effects on reception policies for displaced Ukrainians, as well as looking at the demographics of Ukrainian society. 

In her first Ukrainian Displacement Update, Melissa Siegel looks at the latest figures on Ukrainian displacement. Melissa looks at both internal displacement and international displacement. In this she breaks down the regional figures, as well as looking at where Ukrainians are fleeing to. 

In a new video Prof. Siegel looks at health outcomes in countries of destination. In this video she looks at the prevalence of both communicable and non-communicable diseases. She highlights some of the causes of the variance as a result of migration. 

An interview with Prof. Melissa Siegel has been included as part of a recent publication by Arte. In this interview Prof. Siegel talks about, among other things, the motivation of migrants explaining the multiple reasons as to why individuals may migrant. Within the programme several other migration specialists also spoke on various other topics. 

In her latest video, Melissa Siegel looks at the effects of migration on the labour market of destination countries. In her video, she examines whether migrants compete with members of the domestic labour market or complement it.
