CfP: Junior workshop on “The Economic, Social and Political Effects of Migration” (Leiden University)

Call for Papers:

The Economics Department of Leiden University is pleased to announce a junior workshop focusing on “The Economic, Social and Political Effects of Migration”, which will be held Friday April 19th 2024, in the picturesque city of Leiden, the Netherlands.

The aim of the conference is to provide a platform for young researchers employing quantitative methods to study diverse aspects of migration. PhD researchers and postdocs are especially encouraged to apply. Participation in the workshop is free of charge and lunch and refreshments will be provided. Limited funding is available to cover travel expenses. (The conference is sponsored by the KNAW.)

The keynote lecture will be held by Prof. Tommaso Frattini (University of Milan).

Topics of interest
We invite abstract submissions covering, but not limited to, the following thematic areas:

  • Migration and the economy: For example, labor market outcomes and net fiscal position
  • Migration and society: For example, social integration and cohesion
  • Migration and politics: For example, political attitudes or political discourse
  • Migration and health: For example, health attitudes and behaviors
  • Migration and education: For example, educational background and outcomes
