CfP: Criminology of Mobility – Migration, borders and (in)security

CALL FOR PAPERS: Criminology of Mobility – Migration, borders and (in)security

Midterm conference of the Working group ‘Immigration, Crime and Citizenship’ – European Society of Criminology.

9 and 10 May 2024 – Warsaw, Poland

The Working Group ‘Immigration, Crime and Citizenship’ of the European Society of Criminology kindly invites you to its upcoming midterm conference in Warsaw (Poland) to further discuss criminological, social and legal challenges posed by the increasing criminalization of immigration and the securitization of the border including – but not limited to – topics such as (unauthorized) migration, globalization, bordering processes, or the role of race and/or citizenship. The Working group focuses on all kind of processes of inclusion and exclusion at the borders and because of the borders. It tries to capture all things that happen because of current bordering practices. The conference aims to stimulate scholars to present empirical contributions as well as reflections on methodological challenges to further stimulate multidisciplinary approaches in this field. In so doing, the conference will try to build bridges between insights and scholars in the migration domain to broaden the understanding of the criminology of mobility.
