DAMR Call for Membership and Proposals
The Dutch Association for Migration Research (DAMR) is an inclusive international network of academic researchers with an interest in contributing to the development of migration research in the Netherlands. DAMR has the objective of increasing the scientific standing of migration research in the Netherlands by emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to migration studies, theory formation and advancement based on empirical research. A specific objective of the association is to enable PhD candidates and young researchers to stimulate interaction and scientific discussion.
With this call, we invite young researchers to become members of DAMR and contribute to current discussions around migration with an academic perspective. Any researcher whose research is somehow related to migration and who feels that he or she can contribute to or benefit from the association is welcome to join.

Call for proposals
DAMR seeks to engage more actively with PhD researchers working on migration issues. For this aim, the DAMR board gives young researchers the opportunity to organize academic events. The proposed events can be workshops, panel debates, or other innovative events that bring together academic researchers and/or engage with a wider audience. The focus of the event can be on a wide range of issues related to migration debates around the world, and relate to different dimensions of the phenomenon. However, activities that have an interdisciplinary approach are particularly encouraged.
DAMR can contribute towards the costs of organizing an event up to a maximum 1000€ per event, depending on needs and within the limits of the available funds.
The event should take place between January and December 2017.
If you are interested in organizing an event, submit your proposal of max. 2 pages specifying the following: Names and affiliations of workshop coordinators; Title and abstract of the proposed workshop; Provisional event type and details (sessions, participants, proposed invited guests); Draft budget
The complete proposals should be sent to Veronika Flegar (firstname.lastname@example.org) by 1 October 2016.
If you have further questions about this call, please contact Veronika Flegar (email@example.com).
