Research Associate/Lecturer Migration, Human Rights, Gender or Digitalization (Universität Erfurt)
The Willy Brandt School of Public Policy (Universität Erfurt) is currently looking for a research associate / lecturer to join the team for the next two years. The full-time position is directed at individuals with a PhD or extensive work experience in any of the following fields: migration, human rights, gender, digitalization (big data).
Responsibilities
- Plan and teach four Masters level courses (as part of the Master in Public Policy curriculum) per semester covering at least one of the following topical areas:
- migration, human rights, and gender-related issues or
- digitalization (incl. big data), evaluation, and social science research methods.
- Conduct research in the topical areas mentioned above
- Supervise and mentor MPP students in course planning, seminar papers and Master’s theses
- Administrative coordination and participation in the MPP Examinations Committee and the
- Admissions Committee
Qualifications
- University degree in social sciences, economics, law, or public policy, with high marks
- PhD or extensive work experience in any of the following areas: migration, human rights, gender, digitalization (big data)
- Proficiency in social science methodologies (quantitative and qualitative) including document analysis, opinion poll analysis, discourse analysis, and other data analysis methods relevant to public policy
- Previous teaching experience in relevant subjects
- Professional English language proficiency is required, basic knowledge of German is a plus
- Previous work experience in internationally and culturally diverse environments is preferred
