Evaluating migration policy effects and effectiveness

The effectiveness of immigration policies is the object of controversial academic and public debates. We will discuss why migration policies are often perceived as ineffective despite having significant effects on migra­tion and mobility. Based on some conceptual considerations about how Seminar “Evaluating migration policy effects and effectiveness” by prof Mathias Czaika in the Globalization Transnationalism and Development Colloquium 
 to approach and measure immigration policy effects, we will assess recent empirical findings on the effects and effectiveness of migration policy on international migration and  mobility flows.
