The National Center of Competence in Research NCCR – on the move aims to enhance the understanding of contemporary migration patterns.

Data analytics can be used as a research method in the field of legal research. It may improve the efficiency of legal research, disclose unexpected results and decrease the likelihood of missing important information. 

We are looking for 3 enthusiastic PhD students to join our team of transnational migration researchers on a project called Mobility Trajectories of Young Lives: Transnational Youth in Global South and North (MO-TRAYL).

The Centre for Citizenship, Civil Society and Rule of Law (CISRUL) at the University of Aberdeen is delighted to offer two 3-year PhD studentships to start in September 2017. The studentships will include home/overseas fees and a full stipend of £14,539 per annum. We welcome applicants from anthropology, cultural and literary studies, history, legal theory and socio-legal studies, philosophy, politics, religious studies, sociology and theology.

Connecting disciplines, the NCCR brings together research projects from the social sciences, economics and law. Managed from the University of Neuchâtel, the network comprises ten universities in Switzerland

General description 

Children of migrant origin are more likely to move within the country of settlement than native born youth, however little is known on the potential effects of this so called internal mobility. When does childhood internal mobility have positive or negative consequences on an individual’s life? Are there differences in processes and consequences for those of immigrant and non-immigrant background? The main objective of the MYMOVE project is to advance knowledge on the relationship between childhood internal mobility and adult life chances as defined by demographic family life choices, health and well-being for those with and without immigrant background. The MYMOVE project will make use of unique and new longitudinal (full-) population register data from across Europe 

The Institute for European Global Studies at the University of Basel invites applications for two PhD positions (full time) starting immediately or according to agreement. They are part of the research project “The Divisive Power of Citizenship” funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). Applications can be submitted until April 24, 2019. 

IMISCOE PhD Summer School is organized by Center on Global Migration at Goteborg University together with the Association of Migration Research, GAR, a non-governmental organization based in Istanbul.
