The Center for Refugee, Migrant, and Displacement Studies at Virginia Tech are pleased to issue a call for submissions to their Working Symposium on Refugee and Migrant Education, to be held February 26–28, 2026, in Blacksburg, Virginia, USA. 

The IMISCOE Standing Committee “Methodological Approaches and Tools in Migration Research” (Meth@Mig) in collaboration with the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies invites researchers of any methodological orientation to participate in the 5th Annual Meth@Mig Workshop. 

We are pleased to announce the Call for Participation for the upcoming International PhD Spring School “Production of Migration”, organized by the Collaborative Research Centre “Production of Migration” (SFB 1604) at Osnabrück University, taking place from April 14–17, 2026. 

Between the collection of empirical material and the production of final project outputs lies a mysterious and murky process of ‘getting to know’ the piles of research material.

A new book edited by Fabio Perocco, Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Venice and Editor-in-Chief of Inequalities: Journal of Critical Inequality Studies has been published by Routledge. 

This paper, written by migration researcher Muhammad Wajid Tahir, applies OpenAI and NLP techniques in Migration Studies.
