Vacancy: ‘Doctor Assistant’ (part-time: 60%) – ‘MA of European Studies: Transnational and Global Perspectives’ (University of Leuven, Belgium)

On the ‘Master in European Studies: Transnational and Global Perspectives’ (MAES)

The multidisciplinary ‘Master of European Studies: Transnational and Global Perspectives’ (MAES) is organised by the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences and is offered in the excellent academic environment of the University of Leuven (KU Leuven). KU Leuven is one of the oldest universities at the heart of Europe, with a very high ranking in the Times Higher Education Ranking (top five in continental Europe). The programme engages students to study Europe as a continent of strong interactions across national boundaries and constant exchanges with the outside world. The programme offers four specialised multidisciplinary modules:

  • transnational perspectives on European history, society, diversity and culture;
  • the external relations and policies of the EU;
  • the position and interactions of Europe in a context of globalisation and global governance;
  • interactions and comparisons between Europe and Asia.

The Master of European Studies is an international programme, taught in English, with students from a large variety of academic backgrounds and originating from 35 countries from all around the world. MAES offers excellent students the possibility to further specialise in comparative and transnational Europe-Asia studies through EU-funded Double Degrees with universities in Japan and Korea. American students can obtain a Fulbright European Studies scholarship. For more information, see the website of the unit:http://ghum.kuleuven.be/ces/
