Talking about analysing our research material: Let’s dig into data

Between the collection of empirical material and the production of final project outputs lies a mysterious and murky process of ‘getting to know’ the piles of research material. This introduction to the Special Section, ‘Digging into data: Learning together from analysis experiences’, reflects on how human geographers talk about this process of qualitative empirical analysis. It argues for the possibilities of collective learning that might arise from talking more openly about the detail of how this analysis is undertaken. It then introduces the six contributions to the Special Section.
