Summer visiting research position (German Development Institute, Bonn)

The German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) is one of the leading research institutes on development policy. Through excellent research, policy advice and training, the Institute contributes to finding solutions to global challenges.

The Research Programme “Transformation of political (dis-)order: Institutions, values & peace” at the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) offers a possibility for short-term visiting scholar positions of 4-6 weeks between May and October 2020.  The position offers the opportunity to work on original research that aligns with the main areas of research of the programme.

Interested persons from all levels of seniority and all countries can apply, including PhD students who are in the writing phase of their doctoral work. The DIE is particularly interested in cooperation with researchers based at institutions located in the Global South. Stays are expected to be at minimum four weeks long.

Visiting Researchers will be expected to give a talk for DIE scientific staff on their research during their stay, and could have the opportunity to co-author work in one of DIE publication formats. Applicants should highlight in their application in which research cluster or cross-cutting issue their work fits into, and who in the Programme they would want to collaborate with.
