Prof. Siegel’s latest video on Migration and Health in Migrant Countries of Origin
In her latest video, Prof. Siegel looks at the impact of migration in health outcomes in migrant countries. In doing this Melissa begins by examining what health outcomes are and how migration can result in changes to a family’s socio-economic standing, this can include both economic remittances as well as social remittances (the transfer of knowledge or customs that may impact on one’s life). Melissa Siegel highlights how these can cause both positive and negative effects. After this she goes on to highlight how these impacts can be felt outside of families directly effected by migration.
