Post-doc position at the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS)

DIIS invites applications for a three-year postdoc researcher for the ‘Diaspora Humanitarianism in Complex Crises’ (D-Hum) collective research project, starting February 1st or soon thereafter. The position is fully funded and includes approx. five months fieldwork, primarily in Somalia, and joint project activities. The applicant must have obtained a PhD degree in a relevant field, e.g. anthropology, development studies, geography, refugee studies etc. We are particularly looking for candidates with research experience in humanitarianism and/or diaspora studies, fieldwork experience in Somalia as well as Somali language skills. He/she will be based at DIIS and will be part of the D-Hum team, comprising DIIS; International Development Studies, University of Nairobi; Rako Research and Communication Centre in Hargeisa; and Rift Valley Institute in Nairobi.
