PhD Vacancy: EU Law and Migration Law (NCCR, Prof. Progin-Theuerkauf)

The National Center of Competence in Research NCCR – on the move aims to enhance the understanding of contemporary migration patterns. Transcending disciplines, the NCCR brings together research projects from the social sciences, economics and law. To complete her research team, Prof. Sarah Progin-Theuerkauf at the University of Fribourg (Law Faculty, Chair for EU Law and Migration Law) is seeking a candidate for a position as PhD student (70%).

The successful applicant is expected to collaborate within a project on EU migration law. Requirements for the position – Master of Law; – Readiness to start a PhD thesis in EU migration law (in English, French or German); – Knowledge of and interest for EU instruments on legal migration; – Interest to work in a multilingual team; – German or French mother tongue, good written and oral command of English (working language within the NCCR).

The main place of employment is the University of Fribourg; candidates will however be required to participate in NCCR activities at the University of Neuchatel or other participating universities. Qualified women are encouraged to apply.
