In Melissa Siegel’s new video she looks at the history, policy and current situation in South African Migration. She starts the first video looking at the pre-16th century. She highlights that prior to European colonisation there was already various nomadic tribes moving through the area. She then moves on to highlight the Dutch migration events in the period. In her second video she looks at the migration policy: this includes looking at the legal and governance framework surrounding migration, and the institutions involved in implementing it. She also looks at the relevant international conventions that South Africa is a party to.
