Call for Proposals

MACIMIDE Workshops 2016

The MACIMIDE Executive Board aims to enhance collaboration between MACIMIDE scholars and to give young researchers the opportunity to plan and organise joint academic initiatives. The proposed workshops should fit into one or more of the MACIMIDE research themes and should respond to specific research interests or needs of MACIMIDE researchers; for example: ethical issues in migration research; challenges related to conducting fieldwork in different countries; theoretical and methodological innovation in interdisciplinary research. Interfaculty and cross-theme collaboration is particularly encouraged.

MACIMIDE can contribute towards the costs of organising a workshop up to a maximum 2.000 Euro/per workshop, depending on needs and within the limits of the available funds. These funds can also be used to invite international participants.

Applications should be submitted by teams of at least two junior researchers (coordinators) affiliated to MACIMIDE. For the purpose of this call, ‘junior researcher’ refers to PhD candidates, Postdoctoral researchers and Assistant professors.

The proposed workshops should take place between January and December 2016.

Interested junior researchers who are affiliated to MACIMIDE can submit proposals of max. 2 pages (A4) specifying the following:

  • Names and affiliations of workshop coordinators
  • Title and abstract of the proposed workshop
