Invitation: Civil Society 3rd Thematic Dialogues on Building a Global Agenda & Collective Action (GFMD Civil Society Mechanism)
Mark your calendars for the 3rd, and final Civil Society Thematic Dialogues on 7 and 8 April!
During the 2nd GFMD Preparatory Meeting in Geneva on 19-20 February, civil society pushed for more discussions that reflect the current challenges that migrants and human rights defenders face all over the world. To build upon these discussions and ensure that every dialogue at the GFMD is grounded in the experiences and impact of migration policies on migrants, their communities, and families on the ground, the 3rd Thematic Dialogues will focus on the overall civil society strategy. This will serve as the first step in laying the foundation for the key topics that must be addressed in the current political context.
Moving beyond the previous discussions on the thematic priorities of the GFMD, which were the focus of the first two Thematic Dialogues, the 3rd Thematic Dialogues will aim to build a global and collective civil society strategy. This strategy, along with direction from national Colombian civil society, will serve as the foundation for the civil society delegation’s advocacy and approach at the 15th GFMD Summit, scheduled to take place in Barranquilla, Colombia, from June 11-13, with Preparatory Days on June 9-10.
