Abstract: In this deeply personal talk, Senija Mehmedovic, a survivor of the Srebrenica Genocide, shares her lived experience of war, forced displacement, and rebuilding life as a refugee. Through her journey, she explores the long-lasting emotional and social impact of conflict, the challenges of identity and belonging, and the resilience that emerges from survival. Her story offers a human lens into the broader themes of migration, trauma, and recovery, bridging personal testimony with global conversations about justice, healing, and human rights. This seminar invites reflection on how individual narratives can help inform policy, research, and collective memory surrounding displacement and post-conflict recovery. The seminar will take place on Teams, please click on this link to join. The seminar will also be recorded and live streamed on UNU-MERIT’s YouTube channel.
