Theorizing Islamic Feminism

Maastricht University

Lana Sirri is Born in Yaffa, Israel/Palestine, and studied Sociology at Tel-Aviv University and followed a career as Women’s Projects Coordinator at the Arab-Jewish Community Centre in Yaffa. She then pursued her MA and Ph.D. studies in Germany.

Lana’s Ph.D. thesis focuses on the ‘Diversity of Islamic Feminist Discourses in Contemporary Feminist Thought’ and involves a critical evaluation of Muslim feminist discourses. Introduction to Islamic Feminisms (Einführung in Islamische Feminismen) will see light translated to German at worten & meer, publishing house for anti-discriminatory action, beginning of 2017.
