Knocking at the Doors of Fortress Europe. Migration Flows from the Maghreb to Europe: is there a Long-term Solution?
Debate Café
The maritime accidents with refugee and migrant ships in the Mediterranean Sea have raised widespread public attention and debate about migration to Europe. Thousands of asylum seekers flee to Mediterranean Europe every year, filling migrant reception centres to many times their capacity.
How does Europe deal with immigration? Isn’t it time for the EU to set up an improved, common, comprehensive approach to migration management and come up with long-term solutions? What changes should be made? Does the Dublin II Regulation need revision? Does the new European Border Surveillance system, Eurosur, represent a real solution? What about the human rights of the refugees?
Join tonight’s Debate Café to discuss these issues with a panel of experts.
This Debate Café is a cooperation between ESA Concordantia and Studium Generale.
