Crowfunding: RefUgees Scholarships (Odysseus Network)

This initiative is a response to the current asylum situation in Europe and aims to provide refugee students with the opportunity to attend the Odysseus Summer School on EU immigration and asylum law. It is intended to support their integration in Europe, particularly by allowing them to engage with European academics and continue their studies, which may have been interrupted due to forced departure from their home countries. Since 2016, 35 refugees from diverse backgrounds have benefited from the Refugee Scholarship to attend the Summer School. They come from countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Eritrea, Ukraine, Sudan, and many others.

The scholarship covers registration fees, travel costs, and accommodation for the entire duration of the Summer School. Only persons officially recognised as refugees or as beneficiaries of subsidiary or temporary protection may apply. Asylum seekers are not eligible. The deadline to apply is 1 June 2025.

The initiative being entirely self-financed, the Odysseus Network cannot fund it alone. It has therefore launched a crowdfunding campaign. We hope to fully fund around ten participants who hold refugee or subsidiary protection status in Europe. Thanks in advance for any donation, small or big, all are welcome!
