Workshop on Citizenship, Migration and Development

MACIMIDE, Maastricht University, 10 April 2017

The Maastricht Centre for Citizenship, Migration and Development (MACIMIDE) of Maastricht University invites submissions for its Workshop on Citizenship, Migration and Development. The Workshop will provide an opportunity for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers working in the areas of citizenship, migration and development to present their research, gain feedback, and expand their research networks. On the following day (11 April) the workshop participants will have the opportunity to attend specialised training sessions focused on key issues of theory, methods and ethics of research on migration, citizenship and development

The workshops will be organised in four panels (two parallel sessions in the morning and two in the afternoon) along the four MACIMIDE research themes:

  • Citizenship and Immigrant Integration
  • Cross-border Mobility
  • Migration and Development
  • Transnational families

We welcome papers in all four areas, including cross-thematic and interdisciplinary papers. If you are interested, please send us an abstract of no more than 300 words, in Word format and specifying the title of the paper, your contact detail (including affiliation), and the thematic panel for which the paper should be considered. Abstracts should be submitted to macimide@maastrichtuniversity.nl by 15 November 2016.

The Maastricht Centre for Citizenship, Migration and Development (MACIMIDE) is the interdisciplinary research platform of Maastricht University that brings together scholars working in the fields of migration, mobility, citizenship, transnationalism, development and family life. MACIMIDE integrates and expands the interfaculty research collaboration in order to contribute to a better understanding of the dynamics and consequences of migration and mobility in European and global context.
