Call for participants: PhD Course on Bandung Conference (Africa-Asia Conference) and South-South Cooperation (Ghent University)
We are delighted to inform you that the Bandung Conference (Afro-Asian Conference), South-South Cooperation: Solidarities, Knowledge, and Worldmaking (a Doctoral Schools Course) will take place on May 6, 7, and 8 at Ghent University. This course aims to bring together PhD students and early career researchers to critically engage with scholars on the legacies and prospects of the Bandung Conference.
In particular, the doctoral school seeks to achieve the following goals:
- Contextualize the historical and political emergence of the Bandung Conference and South-South relations.
- Investigate the theoretical and discursive tropes for understanding the Bandung Conference, Tricontinentalism, and South-South solidarity.
- Reflect on the relevance of the Bandung Conference and South-South solidarity in relation to contemporary global events and discourses.
