Call for papers: Global GLO-JOPE Conference 2024

On December 4 2024, UNU-MERIT Maastricht will host a workshop on “Innovations and demographic change” at Belvedere (first floor). The topic is understood broadly, and issues dealing with structural change and inequality,  population, labor, health, conflict, migration, development are welcome. The core interest is to offer the research communities at UNU-MERIT, Maastricht University and the Global Labor Organization (GLO, in particular those in the Netherlands) a platform to connect. While presentations at the event are all in-person, it will be possible to attend world-wide online or follow the video afterwards.

The event is organized by POP at UNU-MERIT jointly with GLO. It is connected with GLO’s Global Annual Conference 2024 together with the Journal of Population Economics (JOPE) , which takes place online on December 5-7 and will feature highlights of 2024 JOPE papers, the presentation of the JOPE 2024 Kuznets Prize, VirtYS Research Paper Sessions and the GLO North America & China Jobmarket Sessions. The GLO Virtual Seminar of December 5 is also integrated. See 2023, 2022, 2021 and 2020 for previous conferences of the GLO annual signature event with UNU-MERIT involvement.

To suggest a paper to be presented on December 4 at UNU-MERIT/Maastricht in-person, please submit a proposal (abstract only, title, list of authors and affiliations, name of the presenter in bold) by November 12, 2024 to “office@glabor.org”.
