CALL FOR PAPERS

1st MACIMIDE PhD/Postdoc Workshop

Thursday 3 April 2014, Maastricht University

The Maastricht Centre for Citizenship, Migration and Development of Maastricht University invites submissions for the 1st MACIMIDE PhD/Postdoc Workshop. The Workshop will provide an opportunity for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers working in the areas of citizenship, migration and development to present their research and gain feedback from their peers and more senior scholars.

The Workshop will be organised along four thematic panels:

  • Migration and Development
  • Transnational families
  • Cross-border Mobility
  • Citizenship and Immigrant Integration

We welcome papers in these four areas.

If you wish to present your research, please send us an abstract of no more than 300 words, in Word format and specifying the title of the paper, your contact detail and the thematic panel for which the paper should be considered.

Abstracts should be submitted to macimide@maastrichtuniversity.nl by 15 February 2014.

The workshop will be held at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of Maastricht University on Thursday 3 April 2014.

The format will be as follows: presentations (10-15 min.), followed by comments from a senior discussant and an open discussion (20 min.).

Participation (incl. lunch) is free of charge to selected paper-givers, but participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation.

The workshop will precede the MACIMIDE Kick-Off Conference, organised in cooperation with the Dutch Association for Migration Research (DAMR), on Friday 4 April 2014.
