Call for Country Experts or Editorial Assistants for Statelessness Report

Become one of our Country Experts or Editorial Assistants for the Statelessness Report 2016

We are looking for country experts and editorial assistants for a country-by-country global report. This work is voluntary and will be concentrated in the last quarter of 2015 and the first half of 2016. You are invited to apply either as a pair or individually.

The Report: The Statelessness Report 2016 will bring together peer-reviewed country-reports by experts from all over the world to examine how the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) may affect stateless persons. Country chapters will be drafted according to a template developed by ASAP and the Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion, and the report’s conceptual framework will be based on a briefing paper drafted by the Institute and ASAP, which will be reviewed by experts at a Chatham House event.

If this project interests you, but you don’t see yourself in either of these roles, note that we are also seeking people to help in other ways. Email ‘more information’ to statelessnessreport@gmail.com to learn more, or to suggest a way in which you can help us

Country Experts:

The work for each country expert will involve supplying information on statelessness in the country of expertise. You would be provided with a two-page template to complete and would be in regular contact with the editorial assistant assigned to your region.

The template will emerge out of a series of drafts and meetings, culminating in a Chatham House discussion later this year. You would be sent the template as soon as it is ready. Once you have completed it for your country, you would submit it for peer review.

We are planning to launch the report at several regional events and there would then be scope for to be involved in the organisation of an event in your region.

If you are interested and would like more information, please write, with the subject ‘contributor query’ to statelessnessreport@gmail.com.

To apply, send CV, PDF of one relevant publication and a list of the key sustainable development and statelessness issues in your country of interest with your name and country in the subject line to statelessnessreport@gmail.com. Applications open until 31st August 2016, or until all positions are filled.

Editorial Assistants:

The work for each pair or individual will involve overseeing the work of 10 country experts on statelessness. You would have regular Skype meetings and email correspondence with the core editorial team.

You would be contributors’ first port of call for any queries about the process and would then be required to ensure that they submit their work according to the imposed deadlines, checking to make sure that the work is complete.

Global experts will then peer-review the contributions and you will be responsible for feeding this back to your team of ten.

We are planning to launch the report at several regional events and there would then be scope for to be involved in the organisation of an event in your region.

If you are interested and would like more information, please write, with the subject ‘assistant query’ to statelessnessreport@gmail.com.

To apply, email, with subject ‘assistant application’ to statelessnessreport@gmail.com, including a recent CV and 200 words explaining your suitability for the project. Applications open until 31st August 2016, or until all positions are filled.
