Call for applications: Practitioners in Residence (PIR) program – DePaul Migration Collaborative

The DePaul Migration Collaborative has opened a new call for applications for our Practitioners in Residence (PIR) program. We are seeking applications for our 2025-2026 cohort of Practitioners. The deadline for applications is September 15th. We ask that you share this call with your networks of migration professionals or consider applying yourself.

The PIR program funds short term research projects on urgent topics to be carried out by/for experts and professionals who have considerable experience and a track record of writing, publishing and working on forced migration, immigration and human rights issues. Through their projects, the Practitioners in Residence engages advocates and decision-makers on social and cultural realities that drive migration, collaborate with faculty engaged in various disciplines at the intersection of migration, outline effective strategies for pursuing claims for protection in the US and develop replicable models for advancing and advocating for better representation and treatment.

PIRs are expected to produce original work during their residency that is replicable and impacts the lives of migrants in tangible ways.
