The Refugee Survey Quarterly invites applications to join its dynamic and diverse general Editorial Board. Board Members work with the Editors-in-Chief to guide the direction of the journal and work with potential contributors.
The Refugee Survey Quarterly is the longest-established journal dedicated to refugee issues and publishes work at the intersection of research, policy, and practice in the refugee and forced displacement fields, from a range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives.
The Refugee Survey Quarterly invites applications to join its dynamic and diverse general Editorial Board. Board Members work with the Editors-in-Chief to guide the direction of the journal and work with potential contributors. Members thus carry considerable responsibility for the content and quality of the Journal.
The Board, in keeping with the RSQ’s mission, develops the strategy and vision of the Journal, maintaining its disciplinary, thematic, and geographic diversity and outreach whilst upholding scholarly excellence and integrity.
Members should be available and committed, and willing to devote considerable time to the Journal. This includes:
· Attending regularly scheduled virtual Board meetings
· Assisting in peer-reviewing articles or other contributions at the request of the editorial team
· Serving as an ambassador for the Journal and engaging with academics, practitioners and policymakers, at conferences, meetings, and more generally in the relevant fields
· Mentoring occasionally authors from under-represented geographic areas or other backgrounds as appropriate
The call for applications is open to all scholars and practitioners working in the forced migration fields, regardless of background or seniority. Scholars working outside traditional centres of scholarship and/or with a displaced backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The new members will be appointed from 1 January 2025, for a three-year term.
Applications should consist of a CV and a cover letter specifying the candidate’s skills and qualities. They should be emailed with the subject “Editorial Board Application 2024” to Nicholas Maple, Co-Editor-in-Chief of RSQ (nicholas.maple@sas.ac.uk) and received no later than Thursday, 1st October 2024.
