Call for applications: AfOx Visiting Fellowship in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies at Oxford​

Applications are now open for the AfOx Visiting Fellowship Programme, in collaboration with the Refugee Studies Centre (RSC) at the University of Oxford. This fellowship offers a unique opportunity for African researchers, including those with lived experience of forced displacement, to engage in independent academic research on the causes, consequences, and responses to forced migration from September 2025 to August 2026. Fellowship Highlights:

  • Duration:12 months (10 months virtual engagement + 2 months in-person at Oxford during Trinity Term (April-June) 2026)
  • Support:Accommodation, return economy flights, visa fees, maintenance allowance, and access to Oxford’s academic resources
  • Collaboration:Work alongside Oxford-based scholars, fostering international research networks in the field of Refugee and Forced Migration Studies
  • Eligibility:Open to African researchers who hold an advanced degree and are actively affiliated with an African academic or research institution

As RLRH circulates this call, we particularly encourage applications from individuals affected by displacement  (for instance, if you identify with the experience of seeking asylum/refuge, internal displacement, temporary protection, or otherwise).  Your expertise and perspectives are invaluable to advancing critical scholarship in this field.
