13/09/2024 – Conference “Humanitarian Studies: Today and Tomorrow” at the Humanitarian Studies Centre (ISS)
Humanitarian Studies Centre’s one-day conference
“Humanitarian Studies: Today & Tomorrow”
Friday 13th September 2024 (10:00 – 17:00) at the International Institute of Social Studies in The Hague
Presenting at and attending the conference is free. Please also feel free to share this invitation within your networks.
The conference will consist of three rounds of parallel presentations by both researchers and practitioners in and around the field of ‘Humanitarian Studies’. Understanding humanitarian studies involves examining societies affected by crisis: something we all have insights to share and reflect upon. How are humanitarianisms and societies in crisis addressing current conditions, and how might they do so in the future? What are new trends you have seen in your own work? And do you have ideas you would like to share with an interdisciplinary group?
We invite presentations on emerging, published, or in-process research or practice-oriented research. In order to make the most of the day, we are limiting presentations to 30 minutes – preferably 20 minutes with a 10-minute Q&A. The sessions will be moderated by HSC staff, and there are screens available to use for presentations.
To present at the conference, please register your title and a brief abstract before 15 June to humanitarianstudiescentre@iss.nl
