09/12/2015: Conference on Migration and the Global Development Agenda, EU Presidency of Luxembourg and the World Bank

The EU Presidency of Luxembourg and the World Bank cordially invite you to a conference on Migration and the Global Development Agenda to take place from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9th, 2015 in Washington D.C.

The conference:

This conference will bring together major stakeholders on migration and development to highlight the latest thinking on how to maximize the benefits and minimize the risks associated with migration for host, origin and transit countries as well as for the migrants and their families. Speakers will present various perspectives from a global, national, municipal, business and civil society level.

The conference will be divided into five sessions which will look at:

1:Migration and development Nexus

2:Contributions of migrants to origin and destination countries

3:Maximizing the benefits of labor migration

4:Roundtable on experiences of integrating economic migrants and refugees

5: Leveraging remittances and diaspora resources for financing development
