PROGRESS: Tracking the State of Solutions to Internal Displacement

World Bank Fragility Forum 2024: Adapting and Innovating in a Volatile World

Partnership Day – March 1, 2024, 14:30-15:30 EST (hybrid-event)

Main Complex (MC) building of the World Bank: 1818 H ST, NW | Washington, DC – Room MC9-100

With rising numbers of protracted internal displacement, particularly in fragile and complex contexts, assessing the global state of solutions is vital. The Annual Periodic Global Report on the State of Solutions to Internal Displacement (PROGRESS) is a collaboration between IOM’s Global Data Institute and Georgetown University’s ISIM to provide people-centered and operational-focus insight into the global state of solutions to internal displacement through a data driven approach. The report’s findings contribute to the evidence base about interventions that contribute to helping displaced communities find solutions and pathways out of displacement.

This session aims to present findings from the PROGRESS 2023 report to provide a comprehensive overview of the state of durable solutions to internal displacement in 15 pilot countries and displacement contexts as well as setting the stage for PROGRESS 2024. In addition, the panel will also discuss application of data to inform analysis for solutions and development programming in Colombia and Ethiopia. Through this session, participants will gain an insight into status of solutions, key gaps in data needed for solutions and providing evidence to national governments, development actors and other actors to drive solutions to displacement at scale.
